These are the initial and low-detailed skins in a new camo scheme for the F-14 Tomcat. They are medium size (192 x 192), 24 bit AGP textures and are currently compatible only with D3D configurations. The overall effect is reasonable and it gives us something to work with πŸ™‚

DKD, is that just a texture change, or did you update the 3 file to take advantage of higher res textures?

Either way, this could be added to the D3D EXE zipfiles for the TAW 2.0 Launcher.

Either way, this could be added to the D3D EXE zipfiles for the TAW 2.0 Launcher.

It is a modification of the .3 file code to enable the utilization of new higher resolution AGP textures coupled with the importation of new and larger 24 bit textures. It would probably be wise to have someone, like Wombat for one, beta test these new files and textures.

Cool. Just zip the files into their appropriate folders and email it to me. I'll drop it into mod format for beta testing.

Be patient, the files are on my main TAW hybrid testing system and I'll have to sort the necessary components.

I'll get them to soon πŸ˜‰

I sent the first F14 skin, via email, to HF as you requested. I tried to modify the files so the process is as uncomplicated as possible. It would be my desire that you communicate with me about the process as I would find the information useful for future developments. Note that the process will only work on D3D, the TAW glide implementation does not allocate any surface memory to files in the AGP pathway. We're working on a solution to that πŸ™‚ Note that the TAW GUI will display the 24-bit colors erroneously, they probably will appear black, the appropriate skin camo will appear correct in-game.

Yes. I'm particularly interested in color stabilization with T.O.D. changes. Also, if you could note color quality, saturation and stability given your testing platform specifications, that would be useful.

If you would communicate to me any problems or glitches, that would be helpful. An example is that the TAW GUI's and SmartViews are generally not currently set to handle other than 8-bit color. If you could document what you see currently, it could be useful for testing color upgrades when they become available?

They do look similar, however, the F-22 skin is the TAW Egyptian Camo. It's been a while but IIRC, I swapped the default TM Camo for the Egyptian camo which I prefer πŸ™‚
